Powerful…..

I’m not a religious man, but I believe in something….. I read somewhere tonight that it is suggested that I believe in a Spirit in the Universe that knows neither time nor limitation….

As I read this I had a realization…..

That thing I believe in, that takes care of me, that loves me, that is within me, knows no limitation for me or concept of time. This simply means that any limitations I perceive are of my own making, but the reality is that my potential is beyond my conception; that there are no time frames, deadlines, or expectations in the grand scheme of things. I believe this applies to everyone. This means that ANYTHING is possible. All i need to do is put one foot in front of the other following my dreams, and be of maximum service to my fellows…….

DJ MICHAELIS

Passion for all forms of music is the foundation of the distinctive sound that defines DJ Michaelis Jacoby's musical journey and self-discovery, which has formed him into one of the most diverse DJ’s today. Michaelis' ability to weave in and out of music genre's makes him one of the most sought after DJ's in Los Angeles. Spinning everything from down tempo beats to the frantic sounds of drum and bass to the latest electro hits, he does it all and all of it well.

His parent’s love of classic rock shaped his earliest musical memories, and started his insatiable thirst for music. That drive lead him to find his first childhood role-model, Michael Jackson. As one of the “sequined gloved” kids dancing in the aisles of The Victory Tour in 1984, Michaelis discovered through Michael Jackson’s sophisticated range of musical influences and variety of genres, his own inspiration from these genres including; old school funk, soul, hip-hop, grunge, heavy metal, dance and drum & bass, which are all incorporated in his style today.

Armed with his personal arsenal of music, Michaelis was drafted to man the turntables at a friend's party in 1997 and that night changed his life forever. Michaelis decided to make music his life and playing music a career. Starting off overseas in Israel, Michaelis mastered the art of mixing at clubs in Tel Aviv.

In 2000, Michaelis discovered Mix Master Mike of The Beastie Boys. This moment opened up his mind to what is really possible when mixing music together. After perfecting his skills in many of Tel Aviv's hottest venues, Michaelis moved back to the USA, and immediately found his way into the club circuit in Los Angeles, spinning his unique style of "electro mash up" . He has also held regular tours in Russia as a guest DJ for many high profile special events.

Like everyone’s journey through life, Michaelis has not always had an easy ride. Early on his career Michaelis, like so many others in the club scene, crashed head first into the party way of life, with the hardships of reality that followed quickly. He lost everything while managing to turn this profound experience into a new changed Michaelis, and contributes his time and DJ skills to alcohol and drug free events across the country.

Michaelis currently hold residences at some of the hottest venues in Los Angeles, including; Colony, La Vida, Industry, Palihouse and XIV. When not in the DJ booth, Michaelis is maintaining a weekly podcast and taking the next step of evolution and developing his production skills and tools, and is slated to start work on new upcoming releases.

Michaelis Jacoby is a dynamic force that will always give his crowds much more than they anticipated.
